How to automatically announce new events in your Telegram channel
Publish an event once and announce it in the channel your community already follows. In this example, Demo Community routes new publications to Demo Announcements and publishes Demo Workshop. The announcement is posted when you publish the event.
Before you start
- A Community Manager with permission to manage communications connects the channel and saves its notification routes. Publishing the event also requires publishing permission.
- You need Telegram administrator rights to add your community’s Commolyn bot to the channel and allow it to post messages. The connection panel shows which bot to add.
- Communications must be available for your community; if you do not see it, contact Commolyn support. The channel must be connected and active, and the bot must be allowed to post.

Step by step
Worked example: Demo Community · Demo Workshop. Screenshots use synthetic records.
Start the connection. In Settings → Communications → Chats, choose Connect chat. Follow the connection panel’s instructions and use its Open bot link to authorize the connection with your organizer account.
Add and authorize the bot. In Telegram, add the bot to Demo Announcements as a channel administrator, allow it to post messages and complete the bot’s channel confirmation steps. Back in settings, the channel appears as connected.
Adding a channel link to an event does not connect the channel.
Choose the destination. Open Settings → Communications → Notification routing. Find New event published, choose + Add destination…, select Demo Announcements and choose Save routes.
With no destination selected, new-event announcements are not posted to any channel.
Prepare the announcement content. Open the Demo Workshop draft and check its title, date and time, description or summary, event-page link and announcement media. The post is built from these event details and the selected media.
The sample in routing settings is a preview, not an editable message template.
Publish the event. Choose Publish when the draft is ready. Commolyn posts the announcement to the channels routed for New event published.
Saving a draft or setting a future date does not schedule a post or a reminder.
Check both surfaces. Open Demo Announcements in Telegram and check the post and its event link. Then open the event’s Notifications tab or Communications → Notifications, find the new-event notification and check its destination status.

What the post contains
The announcement presents the event title and timing, available event text, configured announcement media when present, and the event action/link generated for that event. The exact content depends on the event and available media; check the actual post rather than assuming the entire landing page will be copied into Telegram.
A channel post is one shared announcement, not a personal message to every member. To send an additional entrance update to selected registrants later, use personal event notifications. Channel routes are configured by notification type; choosing a destination for New event published does not automatically route every other type there.
Troubleshooting
The channel is missing from destinations
Complete connection and confirmation first, then check active status and posting capability. Reconnect a disconnected channel and restore the bot’s administrator/posting permissions before selecting it.
Publishing produced no post
Check that the route was saved before publication, that it selects this channel and that the event actually changed from draft to published. Read delivery history for skipped or failed destinations and check channel health. Configuring a route after publication does not replay that past publication.
The event was already published
Do not expect saving an edit or changing its date to create a new-publication announcement. Use the event’s supported update or manual notification flow for an additional message.
History says Delivered but members did not see it
Delivered confirms a successful send to Telegram, not that channel members read it. Open the channel itself and verify the post and the correct destination.
